Passion for Peppers

We chose to devote our entire business to growing sweet peppers over 25 years ago, so when it comes to these specialist crops, we really know our stuff.

Tangmere Airfield Nurseries is a family business, established in 1988 on a former Battle of Britain airfield site in West Sussex.

Back then, the nursery sat on just 7.5 acres of land and has since transformed to cover nearly 75 acres of sweet peppers, all hydroponically grown in climate-controlled glasshouses.

We know consumers care about how the food they eat is grown and produced and that’s why from the outset, our aim has been to run a sustainable horticultural business.

Skill, science and the state-of-the art technology help us to grow the best crops, minimise our impact on the environment and even generate electricity for 10,500 local homes.

At the heart of our business, we combine passion for the crops we grow, with a commitment to constant innovation in everything we do.
