What is British Food Fortnight?

As summer ends, it's time to look forward to autumn and celebrate the best of British. Held at the same time as harvest festival ‘British Food Fortnight’ runs from 17 September to 2 October and is the biggest national celebration of food and drink.

Since 2002, this flagship event from organisers ‘Love British Food’ seeks to help promote British food and get everyone involved in growing, cooking and enjoying home produce.

Here at Tangmere, we’re passionate about growing the very best quality peppers to the highest farm assurance standards and proud of our 28-year history. To mark the event, we’re delighted to be showcasing Tangmere’s peppers as part of Emsworth’s very own fortnight of celebrations.

What’s on locally?

With an emphasis on ‘community’, ‘education’ and ‘celebration,’ the ‘Emsworth British Food Fortnight’ offers a fantastic program of activities. You’ll find us at the ‘Thought for Food’ Market on Saturday 1st October where you can meet producers, taste delicious food samples and learn more about British food.

Throughout the day, we'll be working together with the Emsworth Cookery School to celebrate and utilise peppers in different ways. Barbara Crick of Emsworth Cookery School says: “We’ll be running demonstrations to show how easy peppers are to prepare and give inspiration for new ideas. Please come and say “hi” and ask any questions - we’re here to help!”
