Give your body a boost. Peppers are bursting with health benefits. Packed with essential vitamins, minerals, fibre and protein to boost health and immunity – peppers provide an excellent source of natural goodness.

Did you know?

More vitamin C than citrus fruit

Peppers have a very high concentration of vitamin C and in our red peppers this can be as high as four times a standard orange, and a single green pepper alone provides more than double the recommended daily requirement.

Peppers contain iron and potassium which thanks to their vitamin C content, are well absorbed by the body.

One of your ‘five-a-day’

It’s recommended we eat at least five fruit and vegetable portions a day as part of a well-balanced diet and as peppers are so versatile, they are a quick and easy way to good health.

Half a pepper (80g) provides one portion and makes an ideal snack or can be added to pep up a salad or top a pizza.

Powerful pick me-up

Antioxidants are nature's way of protecting bodies from infection and disease.

Peppers are rich in antioxidant vitamins: A, C, and E, and beta-carotene which help to boost the immune system and can protect joints, heart and arteries.

They also build collagen to help keep skin supple and youthful.

Peppers are high in water content (they get their crunchy texture from the water in their cell walls) so are low in calories – just 15 calories per 100g in a green pepper.

The fibre that peppers contain makes them satisfying, and best of all the natural sugars mean they taste delicious and sweet.

Healing power

Yellow and orange varieties are good sources of sulforaphane, accelerating natural detoxification and believed to boost carcinogen resistance.

Eyes bright

Peppers for your peepers? Coloured pepper varieties are rich in beta-carotene (which the body converts to vitamin A) and other useful carotenoids, that help promote good eye health and protect vision.
